This qualification is also mandatory for all Level 4 qualifications and for Level 3 Special Populations Diploma.
Pre-requisities / Entry Requirements
Ideally, you’ll have a recognised Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification. If not, you can enrol but will have to take the anatomy and physiology unit, which costs another £100.
A dedicated Learner Support Tutor will mentor and support you throughout. He or she will help you at every turn, answer your questions or just provide focus and motivation when you need it. You can have a support call by appointment, or you can just get in touch when you need to. It’s your call. Over the phone or on email, your personal tutor will help ensure you’re prepared for your training days. They’ll also give you feedback on worksheets and assessments to ensure you have no knowledge gaps. If you need any other help at all, please just ask.
The anatomy and physiology assessment (if you do not hold a level 2 qualification) must take place on a separate date to the exercise referral course dates, as we can’t fit it in during the programme. You’ll have to ask our careers team about exam dates and venues.
The course covers:
• Anatomy and Physiology
• Setting up and coordinating exercise referral schemes
• Exercise Referral - principles
• The law
• Designing programmes for a variety of medical issues, including:

1. Worksheet on medications
2. Case study on progressive exercise programme
3. Theory exam by multiple choice
4. VIVA/interview case study
