What's in the course?
The Exercise to Music Instructor course is for anyone who has a passion for exercise to music and who wants to develop skills to deliver classes. During this module students will learn first-hand from an experienced tutor about the realities of delivering an Exercise to Music (ETM) class. This course is a component of three programmes namely Studio Professional, Complete Pilates Instructor (optional) and Total Immersion, but can also be taken separately.
This course will help students enhance their confidence and to develop their natural passion for teaching and moving with music. They will have the chance to improve their ability to structure routines to the beat of music tracks, and gain skills to plan and teach an Exercise to Music class at mixed ability level. Students will learn:
- Health and safety guidelines
- Designing appropriate warm ups and cool downs
- Identifying and instructing appropriate aerobic exercises and stretches for an Exercise to Music class
- Identifying and instructing appropriate muscular strength and endurance exercises for an Exercise to Music class
- Class management and coaching skills
- Voice projection, motivation and cueing skills
- Planning and building 32 beat combinations
- How to work with the beats and phrases of the music
