What's in the course?
This course will teach you all about torso training skills and core stability, with students learning how to prescribe safe, effective and challenging torso exercise and the equipment needed to do this. The knowledge provided in this module is intrinsic for Personal Trainers looking to broaden their skills in core stability.
This course is a component of four programmes namely Personal Trainer Professional, Advanced Personal Trainer, Studio Professional and Total Immersion, but can also be taken separately. The course covers :
- Anatomy and kinesiology of the torso
- Exercise and its role in muscle balance and posture
- Core functional strength and stability exercises and their application
- Techniques for developing clients' kinaesthetic awareness
- Traditional torso exercises, their application, the myths and misunderstandings
- Techniques of adaptation and progression in torso training including: resistance, body position, volume, intensity and type of contraction
- The use of equipment such as gym/stability balls, benches and steps
