The GP Referral course has been devised to qualify instructors to deal with GP referred clients.
Defined as low risk in the Exercise Referral Quality Assurance Framework and REPs, where specialist training is required in order to devise suitable programmes. The award also serves as an introduction to GP Referral systems, how they are structured and who is involved.

- Establishing and running a GP referral scheme
- Exercise and diabetes
- Exercise and arthritis and osteoporosis
- Exercise and mental health
- Exercise and asthma
- Hypertension and high cholesterol
- Parkinsons Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Back Pain
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
The course is run over 5 days and deals with the following illnesses:Coronary Heart DiseaseDiabetesOsteoporosisArthritisCancerChronic Fatiguemental Health
Entry Requirements: Reps recognised level 3 qualification.
Assessment and Certification: Students will be required to complete a theory paper and case study to achieve the Lifetime GP Referral Award and 20 REPs CPD credits.
