It will provide the knowledge required to set up and monitor suitable programmes for special groups of people exercising at home or in the gym. Insurance to practise can be obtained after completion of the course.

  • Module 1 - Asthma
  • Module 2 - Diabetes
  • Module 3 - Hypertension
  • Module 4 - Cardiac rehabilitation
  • Module 5 - Strokes
  • Module 6 - Osteoporosis
  • Module 7 - Arthritis
  • Module 8 - Obesity
  • Module 9 - Children
  • Module 10 - Elderly
  • Module 11 - Pregnancy
  • Module 12 - Case studies

Entry Requirements
Students must hold a suitable qualification in fitness instruction. A qualification in fitness testing is desirable but not essential. Minimum age, 18.

Length and Format of Course
12 months (based on 10-12 hours study per week). Maximum time allowed is 2 years. Distance learning.

Assessment

  • Continuous coursework assessment with tutor feedback
  • One 90 minute theory exam to be held at your nearest Premier venue
