Certificate in Sports Conditioning

A national vocational qualification (NVQ), at Level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework. It is also recognised by REPs at Level 3.

This qualification is aimed at advanced instructors wishing to broaden their knowledge and skills of the theory and practice of sports conditioning. It incorporates advanced techniques for the screening and training of those engaging in sporting activity in a recreational or more serious capacity.

Qualifications and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points

  • Premier Certificate in Sports Conditioning
  • Active IQ Certificate in Sports Conditioning
  • 20 REPs CPD points

Course Content

  • Needs analysis including: athlete screening, movement analysis and bio-motor ability assessment
  • Sports specific goal setting
  • Programme design and periodisation including:sports specific and position specific programme design, periodisation for individual and team sports, speed and agility drills and Olympic lifting

Entry Requirements
Candidates should hold a Level 3 Advanced Instructor qualification as listed and recognised by REPs.

Length and Format of Course
The course includes a 2 day workshop and a 1 day assessment. This is supported by online learning materials. It is estimated that the course will take 2 months to complete.
