I am happy to make home visits and have a good selection of equipment including client nutritional analysis software, which enables me to analyse and address an individuals nutritional status and potentially help rectify any deficiences or excesses recognised in the diet. Stability balls / wobble boards and free weights. I also love working with clients outdoors incorporating power walking / jogging / running and cycling into individual programmes if required.

I am continually developing and improving my fitness knowledge and expertise by attending courses and subscribing to recognised sports science research institutes, my training & nutrition programmes are devised using only scientific evidence based techniques. In September 2005 I sucessfully completed the Modern Pilates stage 2 Pilates Personal Trainer & Practioner course, which qualified me to provide postural assessment and muscular imbalance advice, along with corrective techniques & exercises. In October 2006, I advanced my expertise further by successfully completing the Modern Pilates stage 3 Advanced Pilates Personal Trainer & Practioner course. This course qualified me to work alongside other rehabilitation specialists, as well as prescribe postural enhancement programmes. I have recently completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy, and I am a registered member of The Society of Sports Therapists. To enhance my expertise futher, I will be reading for a Masters degree at The University of Teesside in 2009.

    Professional Reference

Emma has been the personal trainer to my wife and myself for the past six months, and I am delighted to have been asked to provide her with a reference. Over this time, Emma has enabled us both to make changes to our lifestyles, including exercise programmes and diet, that we should be abale to sustain for years to come.
Emma has numerous strengths. She has a super personality, is a great motivator, is very enthusiastic and remarkably, considering the 'raw material' she has been having to deal with, really seems to enjoy her work! She is constantly developing herself, and I know she is achieving highly in her current sports therapy degree course. I would say that she has a genuine vocation.
Emma draws her considerable expertise from a wide range of disciplines, and uses these to develop highly personalised regimes with goals which are realistic but challenging, whether it be aerobic circuits, modern pilates, running or a multitude of other exercise systems. She then is able to utilise your home environment imaginatively and with a few simple pieces of equipment to use your home as, effectively a gym. Programmes are constantly developing and the goalposts moved to stretch you further than you thought you were capable of, the results are steady and tangible.
In my own case as an unfit, sedentry and slightly overweight doctor, she has used exercises as diverse as boxing, pilates, skipping, stability ball and weights. She has made suggestions which have transformed my diet to one which makes me feel healthier and more energetic. Most remarkably, having not run any distance since school days, she has enabled me to start a regime of running, working towards a 10K run.
All this might sound as if Emma might be able to do the same thing for you; the thing is, she can!

    -------------------------------------------------
Emma has asked me to write a reference for her which I am very pleased to provide. She has been my personal trainer for the past 4 months now and I am delighted with the progress I have made in this time.

When we met I had a whole load of problems relating to pregnancy, including an unstable pelvis and loads of extra weight. Through an ever changing program of core stability work, aerobic and weight training exercise I have shed about a stone in weight and have recently started to return to running. Most importantly however, I am in much less pain.

Throughout the time Emma has been helping me, she has developed my program, keeping it interesting but always geared to my specific problems and goals. She has a good knowledge of diet and nutrition and is happy to provide advice and even recipes. I have also been very impresed with her knowledge of exercise physiology and sports injuries. As a doctor myself with an interest in these things I feel able to judge this accuratley. Emma is completely commited to her profession and is continuing to improve her knowledge all the time through further education.
While I am not saying that she can wave a magic wand and all your goals will be achieved, if you are prepared to put in the work but need help and guidance and perhaps a bit of outside motivation then I am confident that you will not be disappointed in Emma. Dr Jackie Timian
