| Experience : Sport and fitness has always been an important part of my life; gymnastics, karate, swimming, football and cross-country running in the early years and later rugby, badminton and canoeing. At 14, I was selected for the World Class Start programme in canoeing and went on to be a part of the World Class Junior Elite Squad, benefitting from intensive fitness and technical training, at home and abroad, from Britain’s top coaches. I have represented England and Great Britain in the sport and have competed in both national and international competitions. My interest in sports and fitness led me to seek further knowledge and skills by studying Sport and Exercise Science at university in Nottingham where I obtained a 2.1 whilst training as a full-time athlete. I broadened my knowledge and skills after university with Personal Training and Pilates qualifications and I am currently studying for a Masters degree in Physiotherapy at Teesside University. I am qualified to deal with GP referrals, which includes problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, lung and cardiovascular diseases, obesity, depression and neurological disorders. I am also a level 3 Pilates instructor and qualified for ante/post natal exercise, nutritional advice, active ageing and boxercise.
