Can you describe your training philosophy?

My training philosophy is centred around the principles of strength training, which is rooted in the idea of building strength through fundamental barbell exercises. I trust in the effectiveness of compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and presses to create a strong foundation. The emphasis is on simplicity, consistency, and progressive overload to ensure continuous strength gains.

How do you customize your training approach for different clients?

While the core principles remain the same, there are a few considerations that need to be made when it comes to training different populations, such as choices in programming. I customize training programs based on individual needs and experience levels. I assess each client's strengths and weaknesses to tailor the program. Whether someone is a complete novice, old, young, has specific goals like powerlifting or general fitness, I adjust the volume and intensity accordingly while keeping the focus on the basic lifts.

What are your personal fitness goals and routines?

My personal fitness goals are centred around my ambition to continue competitive powerlifting. I consistently follow a program focusing on progressive overload in squats, deadlifts, and presses. This not only allows me to progress my own strength but also helps me better understand and relate to the experiences of my clients. I am a firm believer that you can’t coach what you haven’t experienced yourself.

What advice do you have for someone just starting their fitness journey?

For someone just starting their Strength training journey, my advice is to prioritize consistency and focus on mastering the basics. Learn proper form on fundamental exercises and gradually increase the weight. Setting realistic goals, celebrating small victories, and being patient with the process are key to long-term success.
