Being a Personal Trainer is an exciting, challenging and fulfilling career, but sometimes it's not always easy or straightforward and there may be some gaps in the more commercial areas of running a business that concern you.
Once you are qualified and eager to build a solid client base, the first challenge many trainers face is how to get clients in the first place. Well, being qualified, insured and a member of the NRPT and perhaps REP's is a great start. Some trainers have clients falling into their laps and others seem to have an uphill struggle getting there.
There's also the question of finance even before you start, should I become a limited company? do I need to be VAT registered? What about tax? What about bookkeeping requirements? All these areas can be quite daunting unless you've had some direct experience or have a specific business background or training. But once you know the basics, the mystery is removed and you can get on with the important business of TRAINING!!
