| Experience : Health and fitness has been my passion for many years and as a result I have recently moved into the field on a full time basis. I am very experienced in resistance training and have over 22 years of training in this area. I am a very good standard club runner and can assist would be runners who are just starting out up to good standard athletes in making those fine tuned adjustments. I have a wide range of experience in helping with weight loss/gain goals in which I use my knowledge of nutrition and exercise in combination. I have assisted many different types of people achieve their goals and overcome their barriers, mental or physical. | Professional Reference Reference from Mrs Paula Saint. I have just recently joined Fitness First and had never used a gym before so was unsure of what to expect. I had never used a personal trainer before so was unsure of what to expect. Helen has excellent communication skills, she is easy to talk to and a very good listener. She has an excellent knowledge of health and fitness. After discussion with her about the area I would like to particularly improve on Helen devised a 3 day comprehensive exercise plan. Each day is different so as to alleviate boredom and also work on the various muscle groups. The first thing Helen advised me on was to invest in the correct footwear, as the trainers I had worn previously were aerobic trainers. Helen explained these could cause me injury whilst running on the treadmill. No one at the gym had advised me of this before. Helen also asked me to keep a food diary, as although I am not overweight, my body fat percentage was very high. She advised me that this could cause various health problems. Helen took the time to read my food diary and gave me some very useful ideas about nutrition. By making changes in my diet following Helen's advice I was able to lose 3% body fat in 3 weeks and feel much more awake and have more energy. On my one to one session, which I have weekly with Helen, she encourages me to use equipment I would not have used before. Helen uses lots of praise and encouragement to help you complete the exercises and always makes you feel confident that you can do it. Our sessions are always fun and I now look forward to going to the gym, where previously I had never been particularly fond of exercise and found it a bit hard to motivate myself. I would have no hesitation in recommending Helen as a Personal Trainer for anyone. | |||||||
