| Experience : Katie has participated in sport at a high level from an early age, representing the UK in track & field athletics. She captained Manchester United Ladies FC and then played for Manchester City Ladies before succumbing to injury in 2003. Katie has been working in the fitness industry for over 12 years, in roles ranging from Fitness Instructor to Health Club Manager. During this time she has achieved the highest instructor accreditation by gaining the ACSM gold standard. As a CHEK Exercise Coach, Katie adopts a multi disciplinary approach to assist her clients in achieving their goals, she combines knowledge and creativity to both educate clients and ensure that their training is enjoyable. In preparation for this, I took up the personal training services of re-activ8, for three to four months prior to the operation, and for around six months through the recovery period following the operation. The program involved a supervised and targeted exercise regime designed to strengthen the leg muscles, which is essential to enable a full recovery from total knee replacement. The programme also included supervised and assisted tendon stretching exercises and targeted massage. This was supplemented by a special diet throughout the pre and post operation period.
